Does Money Really Equal Power?

Does Money Really Equal Power?

Many women think money gives you power but it isn’t the case. You can have a lot of money but it’s what you do with your money that determines whether or not you’re a powerful woman. Power comes from the choices you get to make. That’s a very important distinction to make. Not all high money makers are powerful women.

There are two categories that high earning women fall into. Read below to see which one you resonate with most:

Hard Driven Money Makers are superwomen on steroids. They’re the classic ‘A’ type and workaholics who have to breakdown in order to slow down. On paper they look like they have their finances under control. However, despite being a high earner they have debt and cash flow problems because they’re time poor and want to reward themselves for working hard.

They are not powerful women. They spend everything they earn and aren’t building wealth at all.

Always living in deprivation…not necessarily of money but time, joy, freedom and control of their life. Never taking the time to stop and check in with themselves to make sure that the choices they’re making are the right choices for them and the life that they want.

Hard Driven Money Makers let their money control them instead of them taking control of their money. They get caught up in their lifestyle and are stuck in keeping up with the Joneses mentality – wanting to prove to those around them that they are successful through material means. Never stopping to take the time to ask themselves whether their lifestyle is even making them happy or what they really want.

On the other hand, Successful High Money Makers are women who actually take time out for themselves and self reflection. They’re self aware and their behaviours and actions are based, not on fear, but on their most cherished values. Their choices are aligned with their priorities and what’s most important to them and not others.

These women strive for power not to show off to others but to create the life she really wants both now and in the future. They own their value and worth and know what they want in their life. So when opportunities arise they make sure to stop and check in with themselves to ensure it’s aligned with their values and priorities in life.

Only saying yes to those that are and no to those that aren’t. They’re aware that their time and energy is precious and that true power comes from the choices they make that are right for them and the life they want to be living.

If you resonated with the Hard Driven Money Maker, below are two questions to ask yourself. Knowing the answers to these two questions will help you start moving closer to becoming a Successful High Money Maker and really living the life you want:

  • Do you know what your values and priorities are?
  • Are you living your life in accordance with your values and priorities? If not, what is one change you make today so that you are.
